(Houston, TX – Aug. 12, 2019) Long-time real estate executive Christian Sommer is launching Grand Dominion Homes with homesites already secured in three Houston-area communities.
Grand Dominion is breaking ground on its first model home as well as three inventory homes this month in Lago Mar, a Land Tejas community in Texas City. Sommer said Grand Dominion is entering two other Land Tejas communities in the first and second quarters of 2020 — Wedgewood Forest and Sierra Vista, respectively.
“We are launching here in Houston, but our long-term vision is to expand regionally and then nationally,” said Sommer, who is President and Chief Executive Officer of Grand Dominion. “Moving into three communities — especially those by such a well-respected developer such as Land Tejas — aligns with our growth expectations.”
In Lago Mar, Grand Dominion has 45 50-foot homesites and will offer 12 one- and two-story floor plans priced from the $250,000s. The home designs have up to five bedrooms and three-bay garages with ample flex spaces, Sommer said. Each home will have a “DropZone” for mail, keys and phone charges, as well as a mudroom, a video doorbell, and even a back porch swing. All lights will be LED and a thermal scan will be performed before each closing to ensure there are no gaps in insulation, no moisture, water leaks or electrical hotspots.
“Our executive team has more than 60 years of experience in the residential housing market, and we have seen what works and what doesn’t,” Sommer said. “We are combining these tested concepts with technological advances to deliver appealing homes at market-friendly prices.”
James Henrie, Chief Operating Officer for Land Tejas, says Sommer’s reputation and those of the other Grand Dominion executives made the choice easy to bring Grand Dominion on as a builder.
“This is a new company, but the people behind Grand Dominion have worked for some of the biggest builders in the nation and are well known for their expertise and management,” Henrie said. “We hope to establish a long-standing partnership with them as we have other builders.”
Joining Sommer on the executive team are Keith Blum as Executive Vice President of Purchasing and Operations and Van Nguyen, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
